Owners wanted

Nordic Rescue is a pro-life charity with a special interest in the welfare of Nordic breeds, especially huskies.

In January 2018 we welcomed a lively crowd of huskies of varying shades and pedigrees to our kennels. Their energy and enthusiasm matched only by Elke du Bruyn, founder of Nordic Rescue.

Working alongside Elke we provide the best possible care for rescued dogs until they can be re-united with their owners, or re-homed with a new family.

Huskies found lost or abandoned are taken in by Nordic Rescue. The aims of the charity are to:

  • provide safe and comfortable kennelling
  • re-unite lost dogs with their owners
  • re-home dogs, if it is not possible to trace their owners
  • rehabilitate dogs that have been neglected or maltreated
  • educate people about the characteristics and special requirements of Nordic breeds.

Nordic Rescue relies on donations to continue their vital work. You can support the charity in a number of ways.

Sponsor a husky

For as little as R100/month you could make a meaningful contribution to the care of your chosen husky.

Receive updates about the progress of your sponsored husky, and of course you’re always welcome to visit in person.

Make a one-off donation

Every cent we receive goes toward caring for the huskies in our care and maintaining their environment, as well as our work toward re-homing huskies in our care.
